I mentioned an error in a previous post, but I have now installed the guestbook tables. The problem is that when I try to access the guestbook at the follwing URL, www.rocketbomb.com/guestbook, I get this error:

Access denied for user: 'root@localhost' (Using password: YES) in /home/rocketbo/public_html/guestbook/lib/mysql.class.php on line 30

I looked at line 30, but since I don't know anything about PHP, I don't understand it.

You need to put the correct info in your config.php file.

Yeah, maybe I should change root@localhost to something else...
OK, thanks--I'll see if I can fix it.

Most generally all it needs to say is Localhost.

Yeah, someone told me that... I'm not sure what the problem is. I'll have to look at the config file again. I think I need to install the database through the INSTALL script, but when I try that I get a "syntax error." I wonder if my unzip program added some kind of characters, since I'm using a MAC OS 9.
Thanks a lot, though.

"Access denied for user: 'root@localhost'. It is saying your database username is root. That means you didn't change it in the config.inc.php file.

The file information below needs to be changed to your information.

Above your post is a sticky that says "read this before posting...". In it is a link to the post that explains how to customize this file:

Admin config.inc.php file:
