right click on the image you wish to change in Internet Explorer then select properties. This will give you the images name. Simply look for this name in the body.php file. It will be in n <img tag. Simply change the part that says src=" and remember to change the height= and width= parts to reflect the new images widht and height.
The image at the top can be changed by editting templates/body.php
In admin do you have both background colour and text colour as lack? If not they have edited your header.php file in templates.
OK in my guestbook I feel like changing the title images. Anybody good at graphics? lol. I will also need to change the version info and link at the bottom to reflect the changes whilst still keeping a link to proxy2.
There was another reason for my making the updated version. I want people to visit my site for help instead of this one. Atleast that way we will have control over the forum. And I wouldn't say no to more visitors anyway lol

I don't think this sites guestbook and forum are good advertisements. The guestbook is full of spam as is the forums membership.
send me more info about number 4. Email address are hidden in my version if email encryption is turned on.
Learn patience. i'm sure Auron or someone who is familiar with the poll script will help you as soon as they read the post.
Wheres that from?

1 - This is pointless given that he bots could easily hide behind any useragent string. Why bother wasting your cpu time?

2 - Email address are converted to ascii, on the fly, as they are called from the database.

3 - Yes Mine has image verification as an option.

4 - Not sure what this one is supposed to mean.

5 - Yes mine shows both ICQ and Yahoo status.

6 - Yes I have both Yahoo and MSN messenger entries.

7 - the SQL injection exploit only affected 2.2 and 2.3

I welcome all requests for modifications to the book.

A quick list of what I have done.
Image Verification as an option.
Yahoo and MSN fields also optional.
Third choice in gender.
The homepage field is now optional.
Email addresses can be encrypted or left as normal.
Ip addresses can be resolved or kept just as the IP.
Updated the GET, POST, COOKIE, SERVER and FILE arrays from HTTP array to the newer $_ style.
Changed the wording in some of the admin pages.
Admin logout now return you to guestbook.
Form is now shown below the preview and retains the information (beta).
Failed image verification reshows the form complete with your information.
The option to make a message private can be hidden in admin.
Removed th eoption to allow HTML pending my writing a function to only allow certain HTML tags.

There are something I have yet to do but they are minor changes.
bubazoo wrote:will you guys QUIT with the bumps already!

thats just annoying. so does advanced guestbook 2.3.1 (latest) have the "hacked by blabla" fix? because my Advanced Guestbook 2.2 did..

also a suggestion for future versions...
make the text color for the background different
then the textcolor used inside the guestbook.

some of us use a background OTHER THEN WHITE ya know
otherwise I like the default colors, I just don't like the
white background color, hurts my eyes terribly.
so I changed it to 1E3C00, which is a hunter green color,
but if I change the text color of the guestbook, it also
changes the color of the text outside the guestbook to the same color,
which is annoying as heck.

thanks

1 - We *bump* to keep the important threads near the top of the forums as there is no moderator to make them sticky.

2 - The exploit only existed in 2.2 and 2.3. 2.3.1 was released to fix it.

3 - The guestbook is fully customisable. If something cannot be changed via the styles section of the admin it can be changed by editing the templtes.
open templates/body.php and in there you will find the guestbook.gif html . You can alter the guestbooks appearance all you wish to better fit in with your sites look.
If they don't supply an email address the guestbook sends you the email from nobody@YOURHOST. In your case it sound slike it's not finding a host name to fill in. open up lib/add.class.php and find nobody@$host. Simply change this to whatever you want the from address to be when they have not supplied one. Or if you want them to always come from the same address change to changing the guestbook@mysite.com to whatever you wish.
You can change the guestbook images all you wish.
If 2.2 is like 2.3.1 then all colours can be changed via the admin section. As to my exploit fix do a search in this forum for 2.2. exploit fix.
In your guestbook folder. In the guestbook folder should be a folder called lib and in that a file called sessions.class.php. That is unless your host supplied the script in which case god knows how much they have mangled it.
Test version of guestbook is up at http://www.carbonize.co.uk/guestbookbeta

let me know any bugs.
