Open up the templates/entry.php and delete the $DATE variable. Why you'd want to remove it I don't know. If you want to see extreme customisation of the Advanced Guestbook script have a look at www.carbonize.co.uk/Guestbook
hey I read it. Seeing my name gives me warm fuzzy feling.
When hosts provide scripts they tend to provide 0 help for them and also tend to have altered the scripts, sometimes badly.
Did you update all files to 2.3.1 as it still says 2.2 in the footer.
Looks like you upgraded to 2.3.1 but used the 2.2 session.class.php file as the exploit still exists but you get a login loop. The "hack" is just an entry that can be deleted via phpmyadmin if you have it.
With you updating the poll and me updating the guestbook will be no need to come here anymore. Will miss you all lol
Ok have added the image verification as an option. I just need to fine tune it. Then I will allow the disabling of private messages and remove the option to allow HTML due to the recent exploits. I will then be asking for beta testers to give it a go while I try and make a smart installer/updater.
Upload the default guestbook files into a different folder and see if it still errors.
Still looking into it. It's a strange one indeed.
Due to it's reliance on cookies the script will always be susceptible to cheating. Auron is making an updated version of the Advanced Poll and hopefully he has fixed this bug.
If you are running version 2.2 then you probably have been "hacked". If this is the case you need to delete the hacked entry and apply the exploit fix which I have posted elsewhere in these forums. The other thing could be that you have allowed HTML and they have used that to deface your site. The guestbook allows ALL HTML if you tell it to accept it.
My advice is download the entire guestbook folder. Edit the files on your PC and then reupload the lot. Remembering to set tmp and public folders to 777 again.
Just to add that I have added the option to remove the homepage field in the update I am doing to the Advanced Guestbook script.
The script creates a thumbnail by copying the original image and resizing it. This would proably eat up your servers CPU time with a file that large.
A pic thats over half a meg is asking a lot. The problem may lie in the thumbnail creation. Do you have thumbnails turned on ?
