i really confused waht does it mean data access layer and the business object layer. I want to know the difference between the two. And also i want to know, how the presentation layer communicates with the bussiness object layer and the data access layer, I mean how the presentation, business object and data access layer inter related.

i am creating an application which uses perl script , the application can send any type of data.i mean data may be chinese, english , japanese depends uup on the regional setting of the system.. my question is that
"how can we write pearl script to accustom all the langauge letters got from the application"
