Try chmod the whole folder that the guestbook is stored in to 777

chmod 777 book -R

Use the -R to get all the files to the same level... that worked for me and it runs GREAT!!!
The server that i have my web acount curently uppgraded apache and php and now this error comes when someone tryes to post a mesage.

Warning: getimagesize: Unable to open '' for reading. in /home/hajen/public_html/hilife/forum/lib/add.class.php on line 108
Guestbook - Error
Wrong image file type

This comes even if no image is present. How can i solve this?
Hi,

My problem is that the thumbnails donot show correctly after the entry is made. The /tmp and /public folders are already chmodd 777. Only a square is shown instead of the picture

Any idea?
I got the same problem. But after using it for a time, i got back to the right path for the pics. I changed nothing to the codes

Hey Catzwolf, I'm so glad you posted that 'cos the readme is not very helpful.

I was able to log-in before that but the problem I have is getting the ssi call to display anything on the page. I have named the page with a .shtml extension and normally can call using <!--#include virtual="" --> without any problem. Only this time I get '[an error occured while processing this directive]' no matter what path I use.

Any thoughts?

Does sound like a path problem, email me private catzwolf@soundsstudio.co.uk, with the following details,

1, Server path to the Poll ie user/home/htdocs/poll
2, Virtual path, ie url address to the Poll http://www.myaddress.com/poll
2, Html code that you have for you shtml page

Will try and work it out for you and send it back!

ummm no doesn't work.........

Then I can only say that your sever doesn't support either php, mysql or they may have restrictions on their sever, because I tested this about 5 times before I wrote the help file.
Try using this mysql.hostname.com for your hostname.

ie mysql.whateveryoururlnameis
Ok kewl, it works now, my friend said something about using an IFRAME and it seems to work so thanks anyway...

Problem: Solved
Hi

I have a cgi script running on home.shtml and it runs fine. It's a news program. But today i wanted to add a php polling script to the same page. Of course I have to now rename the page to .php. Once I did this, the poll ran great but it no longer displays the news anymore. Any Ideas?
Hi!

I have the problem that my webspace provider does not allow chmod 777 to /tmp and /public.

How much effort would it be to write (and delete) the content not in these directories but into one or more tables of the MySQL database? (assuming it is technically possible).

Mat
I would love to know the answer to this myself.
