you cannot include files via http on windows systems (works only on *nix).
use echo $php_poll->poll_process(4) instead.

the ip.txt file is not volatile; it only zeroes each n minutes where n is the IP lock timelag.

That is, it is not a logging stat file; it is just a time-locker.

I installed advanced poll on my computer and when I try to include a poll in a webpage, I get the following error:

Warning: Failed opening 'http://localhost/testing/poll/test.php?poll_id=4' for inclusion (include_path='c:\php4\pear') in d:\www\testing\index.php on line 42

The odd thing is that when I go to "http://localhost/testing/poll/test.php?poll_id=4," the poll shows up with no errors.

To include the poll I included the following commands:

require_once "poll/poll_cookie.php";
require_once "poll/poll_ssi.php?poll_id=4";

Any idea why it can open a poll on a whole page, but not as an "required file?" Thanks!

Ich brächte so 100 Polls... und das wäre dann 100 HTML Seiten die ich extra erstellen müßte... mit einem Link wäre ich da um einiges schneller, da nicht alle Pols auf der gleichen Seite sein soll...

Hoffentlich gibt es da ein Lösung?

Gibt es auch die Möglichkeit per HREF auf einen Poll zu linken?

Weiter würde mich interessieren ob es schon Produkte zu Apoll gibt, dass immer die gleiche Umfrage auf verschiedene Sachen z.B. Bilder angewand wird und deshalb die Einrichtung der Polls vereinfacht wird?
Also nicht immer die gleiche Kommentare eingegeben werden muß

How do i upgrade without losing current polls? Also how do i retrive the admin password, it doesnt seem to be letting me in with my user/pass. Using MySQL based.. tx for ur help

Upload all the files.

open the readme file and CMOD the files witch are
mentioned in the readme file.

Next go to your URL

www.yourdomain.com/poll/admin

use the default password (poll) and username (admin).

Setup your poll, the click the icon next to your poll witch displays the code to use on your homepage.
(make sure it is PHP file NOT an htm file)

I think now you make it work.

I installed PHP counter v. 1.1 and it is running fine, but for some reason the IP numbers writen on the ip.txt file are disappearing either on a daily basis (the file may be restarting everyday) either at a random basis (I go to check and there is only one IP there after may counted distinct hits).

this problem is not a bug, it's a limitation of your php server config.
ask your server admin.
