went to my guestbook today - found it was "hacked" first of all i thought it was just some malicous code in the latest entry (which it was) but they also changed my password

so i un-installed it - and then re-installed it again (which would have updated it to the latest version right?

and then came the fun part - i uploaded my backup of the website, which would have been an old verison i guess.

it uploaded fine - and all the entrys are showing (other than the latest 2 which we're made after my backup)

and i can log in - but then after that if i click on any of the administration links it takes me straight back to the log in telling me i need to specify a correct password before i go any further!

any help would be much apreciated

Do a search on how to reset you password for the guestbook it has
been covered in detail a couple of times and asked about 500 times.

Sounds like the admin loop problem you get when updating from 2.2 to 2.3.1

lets see if i can use this BB code properly lol

[url=http://www.dj-triquatra.com/guestbook/]heres the link to my guestbook[url]

basically i go to admin - log in - click on a link...say..."style"
and it takes me straight to the login page

in short what i did was delete the old installation - installed the latest version - and then uploaded the backup i had. tryed reseting the password - which changed the password fine but the problem is still there.

thanks for your help guys - i really appreciate it

I wouldn't be concerned. If you updated from 2.2 to 2.3.1 then the problem is that he changed the type of variable used for the date when logged in. There are several threads on the matter or try www.carbonize.co.uk/install.zip (It reports errors which I'm working on but does the job).
