Tips to Answer the Admission Essay Prompt
An admission essay https://www.the-essays.com/admission-essay, sometimes also referred to as a personal statement or an admissions essay, is a written composition or statement of purpose written by an individual, most typically a potential student applying to a college, university, or other post-secondary educational institution. It is meant to offer information about the applicant's personal characteristics and experiences that would be relevant to the chosen field of study at the school of choice. While colleges and universities base their admissions on a student's entire academic transcript, most admissions essays provide a 'hook' or introductory point that draws the reader into the rest of the essay. The purpose of this introductory point is usually to discuss why the student is seeking admission into the college or university in the first place.Generally, college application essays are required to be up to 500 words when it comes to admissions. Since many applicants are already very busy with their daily lives, it is not uncommon for essay submissions to end up taking much longer than is recommended.
In some cases, the essay will be rejected because the student has not presented enough information for the reader to base an impression of them on the essay. In this case, it is advisable to spend a few extra hours to write the best essay possible, incorporating any relevant personal details that will be useful to the reader in forming a complete impression of the applicant. Personal information can include a short summary of academic accomplishments and awards won, a personal profile that highlights strengths and weaknesses, and any test scores that have been attained through participation in athletic teams or clubs, among others. When writing the essay prompt, it is important to remember that there are three basic prompt questions that every admissions officer will ask applicants: Why did you apply to the college? What do you want to study? What do you want to do with your post-secondary education? In order to make sure that your prompt answers cover all of the relevant questions, you will want to make sure that you research each discipline extensively before submitting your essay. In most cases, it is also advisable to make sure that you include all of your extracurricular activities in your answer.
