If you had bothered to read the Sticky thread that says read this before posting Advanced Guestbokk questions you would of seen that there are two methods of stopping guestbook spam already, one of which is image verification.
try action="" but no promises.
It's the one in the list of threads that says Sticky: READ THIS BEFORE POSTING ADVANCED GUESTBOOK QUESTIONS
May be best to ignore my above post. I once made my entrie guestbook valid but at sometime I must of accidentally replaced the updated files with an old backup but it is possible.
type is valid name is deprecated but is allowed if you also use id="" give it the same value as the name attribute. go figure
I am saying that to open links in a new window we need to cheat a bit and use javascript.
there isn't. Welcome to the wonderful world of strict HTML. I personally use javascript and the rel attribute. look at www.carbonize.co.uk/external.js
Open lib/gb.class.php. Replace

Then you need to open up templates/com.php and put $COMDATE where you want the time/date to be displayed.
Did you remember to put a ; at the end as in
Did you download the files from here or did your host supply them?
yes you can remove the homepage but this will not stop the spam. I'd recommend just using the simple anti spam modification to stop all the automated posting. You can find it in this forum or at www.carbonize.co.uk/Board

freaky geeky. A good example of how customisable the guestbook really is.
the actual text is located in lang/english.php. the HTML to format it is in body.php. Simply open up english.php then open up body.php and find the variable that contains the text. Something like $Lang[BookMess1]
No need to apologise. My works proxy seriously sucks. I can only view websites that use port 80, No websites that are IP's, to many bad words and the connection is cut, if the site is on their banned list the connection is cut. Really pathetic it is. My old webhosts domain was banned as apparently containing pornographic content.
