Does anyone have any ideas why my jump menu should suddenly stop working in Links 1.2? Been working fine for many months now, but the last few days it doesn't. It's at:

i'm giving up and finding a new host.

Probably your mysql daemon don't use the default port 3306, so
$GB_DB["host"] = "ip number of mysql sever"; does not work.
Add the correct port to the ip adress.

e.g.

$GB_DB["host"] = "167.78.24.6:3340";

login as root
> chmod 666 the_counter_file

go to your polldata folder and type
> chmod 666 *

when i did install.php it just came up with a summary of the mysql tables that it had created.

this might be the problem:

in config.inc i am using $GB_DB["host"] = "ip number of mysql sever";

and not "localhost" because mysql runs on a different server.

This works as far as the script is able to auto-create the tables in mysql.

Hey everybody. I finally got my poll working (with the great help from this forum) but now I'm having trouble with the cookies. For some reason, the voters can vore as many times as they want. I'm not sure what to do from here.

I've got the php include right above the <html> tag in my poll.php file. The path is correct to poll_cookie.php but it's still not doing anything.

Could someone drop a suggestion or two? Thanks alot. Also, what is the permission for poll_cookie.php?

As claimed in the topic, my Animated Hit Counter will not Increase. I dont know what i am doing wrong, but if I upload the file.txt (into the pages folder) and it says I am the owner, it wont access it unless i change the CHMOD to 666 or higher. But if i delete the file, and let the script create the file itself, it creates it with the owner as "Apache" and it wont increase, nor can i change it to chmod 666 because i am not the owner. when adding an entry addentry.php refreshes to addentry.php with a blank form and does not add the entry to the dbase.
